Which lego indiana jones is better
There's nothing like flying over a LEGO land and jumping out to parachute to your favorite play area. And it's all a lot of fun to do. Funny Story: Played in tandem with my 8-year-old, the game had Tristan in stitches. And it wasn't just him. Sure, I'd still like to see a LEGO heart ripped from a mini-fig's chest, but the alternative to all of that Indy violence can be quite funny at times.
Go too far and your mini-fig will just float back to the map. The Camera Controls Still: How can Traveller's Tales, who have single-handedly reinvigorated, reinvented the LEGO gaming franchise, still not have the in-game camera worked out? I'm sick of dying simply because the perspective is throwing me off.
Fix this already. What Next: I love the huge explorable, hidden area-filled, worlds of LEGO, but I hate having to wander around in them for half an hour trying to figure out which path, which cave, which ladder will take me to the next step in the story. Each hub contains all of the hidden bricks that you used to collect in levels and stashed inside of plants, fire hydrants or something else of this sort.
Once you collect 10 of the same-colored bricks, a bonus will be flown in that you can purchase. Characters are no longer purchased from a store, where you now have to fight off a number of each enemy first and then buy them right in the stage. For the characters, this isn't bad, but not being able to run through levels multiple times, utilize newly purchased characters to find new bricks and build up your inventory is something that I missed here.
Another problem with the hubs is that all of the organization of past games is out the window. I can see the benefit of having to explore to find new vehicles to purchase, but this also comes at the cost of not being able to simply pick the next chapter to play. Instead, you have to find it in the world, and as there's no map to use or directional arrow to point your way.
You can get really lost just trying to continue the story. One thing that's brand-new here is a level creator. This is mostly prop-based, where you place pre-built things into levels rather than carve out caves and such though you can raise and lower land , so your creations will never look as good as what Traveller's Tales originally created.
With a bit of work you can make some decent challenges, but that work would probably be all for nothing as the creator isn't connected online. Nope, there is no easy way to share your levels.
In the day and age of the likes of LittleBigPlanet where sharing and downloading user-created content is as simple as a couple button taps, this is a huge oversight. Granted, depending upon the platform, users may figure out how or what files you'd need to copy to share the content, if possible, but these backdoor approaches won't apply to 99 percent of the people who purchase the game. To put it another way, most everyone who buys LEGO Indy 2 will never play content created by another user, despite it including a built-in level creator, and that's a major problem.
The lack of secrets in the main levels is a mistake, the new hub worlds are confusing and the level editor is just short of being pointless. There's a ton of replay value here. The amount of time it takes you to collect the characters and vehicles is big enough but add to that the engaging level creator it's a shame this didn't return in future games and the extremely fun co-op and you've got yourself an amazing LEGO game.
This game basically duplicates the first Lego Indiana Jones game, except with levels from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The style is weird and This game basically duplicates the first Lego Indiana Jones game, except with levels from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The style is weird and not as fun, but, like all Lego games, it is fun playing as you're favorite characters from the movies.
Not a bad sequel. Just like Lego Star Wars III this game just doesn't have as much charm the original had the gameplay was too random and most of the time I was bored.. Okay travellers tales, what happened? Lego Star Wars was good, lego Star Wars II was awesome, lego batman was also awesome, and the first lego Okay travellers tales, what happened?
Lego Star Wars was good, lego Star Wars II was awesome, lego batman was also awesome, and the first lego indiana jones was great. The story is terrible, and I know what your thinking, we'll duh it's a lego game.
Well these lego games are based off the movies, so it should at least stay true to the source material. That's where the first problem comes in, every single movie is shoehorned into five short, boring, gimmicky levels and ends with some retarded and absurd boss battle regardless of what happened in the movie. Remember in the temple of doom there was an epic minecart chase and then the intense scene where Indy cuts the bridge? The fourth movie which was the weakest one in the series anyway, is dragged out over three parts, adding up to an unnessecary 15 levels and most of them suck anyway.
The gameplay is a very mixed bag. One thing I like is that they changed the overall format. Instead of one hub where you choose the movie and levels from, each movie has it's own hub where you choose that movies levels and find hidden collectible and side missions.
This a welcome change but has many problems. Each movie has five very identical levels and get extremely repetitive. These kinds of levels are in every movie and get very old, very fast.
There are still minikits and bricks to unlock, but the way you find them is also poorly done and very repetitive. The are ten red blu and green bricks in each level, but to find them all you have to do is smash everything in site and hope you get one. This is very lazy, there should be a puzzle for each red blue and green rather than just scavenging for 10 of each, it's boring and isn't challenging. The way you get minikits is okay I guess, each level has the traditional 10 minikits.
These levels are the best in the game. Don't have an account? Sign up for free! What do you need help on? Cancel X. Topic Archived Page 1 of 2 Last. Sign Up for free or Log In if you already have an account to be able to post messages, change how messages are displayed, and view media in posts.
User Info: stop3. User Info: Lord Blade. A bit of both. I think that the general gameplay of this one is more fun. But, story wise, and depth wise Sieg Zeon! User Info: drgnrbrn. This one has been a bit of a disappointment story wise. The levels seem to exist in just one or two rooms, as opposed to the numerous rooms in the previous game. Also, from what I've noticed, most of these levels are just "boss fights" in that you just have to beat wave after wave of enemies or fight a boss character instead of actually playing through scenes from the movie.
If you're looking for a Lego version of scenes from the first three movies, then you'll need the first game, because the first three movies in this game are different. Remember the scene in Temple of Doom where Indy fights a giant animated statue?
Me neither. Want to be chased by the giant boulder?
